Welcome to Northwestern School Corporation Food Service Department!
The Food Service staff would like to welcome you to nutrition services! Our department is made up of a great team of trained employees. The Food Service Department offers many years of experience and knowledge when it comes to Food Services. This summer some of the Food Service staff got together to work on menu’s. We have taken in several suggestions from students, staff and parents. It is our intention to serve you the best we can! Nutrition is just as important to us as it is you. Our services include serving Breakfast, Lunch, Ala Cart sales and Catering for our customers. We hope you will join us in creating a healthy environment that is based not only USDA Dietary Guidelines requirements but exceeds them. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices for the students, staff, and guests of Northwestern School Corporation.
What's for Lunch?
You Choose - We offer 4 lunch entreé choices EVERY DAY. If you don’t prefer the main entrée that day you may choose a Chef Salad, Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, or Gluten Free Yogurt Express Sack Lunch or many other choices at the Secondary Level. Lunch prices are $2.40 at the elementary level and $2.65 at the secondary level. The price for reduced lunches is .40.
When it comes to filling the rest of your child’s plate we are adding more whole grain items on the menu and allowing students to take more fruits and vegetables.
Breakfast is served at all school cafeterias 20 minutes before school starts. Breakfast is $1.60 and .30 for reduced breakfast. Menus will be posted approximately one week before the start of each month. We hope you will encourage your child to FILL THEIR PLATE WITH ALL THESE FOOD GROUPS!
